The fee for taking foreign currency out of a cash machine abroad is also 0% in July

We’re not charging you the usual 2.99% ‘foreign transaction fee’.

You’ll still pay a fee each time you use a cash machine abroad

This is called a ‘cash transaction fee’ which is 3% of the amount you take out or a minimum of £3 (whichever is higher). And remember, you’ll pay interest on this fee from the date of your cash withdrawal.

You don’t need to do anything – these 0% offers will be automatically applied.

Some important info

Please spend responsibly and stay within your credit limit. Remember, the more of your balance you pay off each month, the less interest you’ll pay over time. 0% foreign transaction fees apply to eligible card purchases made outside the UK during July only. Eligible on accounts opened by 30 June 2026. Terms and conditions apply.

Why use your Vanquis
Credit Card abroad?

  • You can pay with it anywhere you see the Visa logo (millions of places worldwide)
  • It’s safer than carrying large amounts of cash
  • Certain credit card purchases between £100 – £30,000 are covered by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. If something goes wrong, you may be able to get some or all of your money back. Find out more here.
  • You can track your spending in the app

A few handy tips to consider

  • If the card machine asks you whether you want to pay in GBP or the local currency, choosing the local currency can be cheaper. That’s because the exchange rate is usually set by Visa, not the restaurant or shop.

  • Keep in mind that having cash could be useful for local markets and tips so you may want to take some with you.

  • Make sure we have your correct mobile number before you travel, just in case we need to contact you. You can update it in the app or give us a call – there’s no need to tell us where or when you’re going though.
