- Make sure you have enough funds available. Most fuel providers complete a check on your credit card before releasing fuel. This is a pre-authorised amount, that comes from your available credit and is held to pay for the fuel once you’ve finished.
- In the UK, the pre-authorised amount is up to £100.
- Outside the UK, the pre-authorised amount can be up to £150.
- After you buy fuel, the amount you spent is deducted from the pre-authorised amount. The remaining amount is then released back to your available credit.
- It can take up to 10 days for the fuel provider to release the remaining amount.
