Most people find that Direct Debit is the simplest way to pay their credit card, as the amount is automatically taken from their chosen bank account each month. But if one-off payments suit you better, head to the Vanquis app and use Pay by Bank, it’s fast, easy and secure.
Direct Debit
You can set up a Direct Debit in the Vanquis app. It’s ideal for automatic payments. With a Direct Debit, you pay your credit card automatically from your bank account each month. This can be:
- Your full balance
- Your minimum payment
If you choose a fixed amount, the Direct Debit amount will automatically adjust if it isn’t enough to cover at least the minimum payment.
Pay by bank
Pay by Bank is the fast, easy and secure way to make one-off payments to your credit card using the Vanquis app. Just tap ‘Payments’, ‘Make a one-off payment’, then ‘Pay by Bank’. It’s as simple as that.
Your available credit should be updated within two hours. If you make a payment before 6pm, your account balance should update the same working day. If you make a payment after 6pm, your account balance should update the next working day.
The date you send your payment is the date it will be applied to your account, once it has cleared. If your payment is still clearing when your due date passes, you won’t be charged a late payment fee, as long as the payment was sent before the due date.
Debit card
You can also use your debit card for one-off payments in the Vanquis app. Tap ‘Payments’ and ‘Make a payment’. Follow the simple steps to complete your payment.
If you make a payment with a debit card before 10.30pm, your account balance and available credit should update the next working day. If you make a payment after 10.30pm, they should update within two working days.
The date you send your payment is the date it will be applied to your account, once it has cleared. If your payment is still clearing when your due date passes, you won’t be charged a late payment fee, as long as the payment was sent before the due date.
Bank transfer
A bank transfer can be used for automatic payments or one-off payments or you can arrange a standing order to make regular payments to your credit card. Here are the details you’ll need for either:
- Our sort code: 60-95-94
- Our bank account number: 00000001
- A reference – please use your Vanquis 16-digit card number (no spaces or dashes)
Most banks offer the Faster Payments service. This means we’ll usually receive the money within two hours. We’ll then use the reference number to allocate the payment to your credit card.
If you make a payment before 4pm, your account balance and available credit should update the next working day. If you make a payment after 4pm, they should update within two working days.
