A one-time passcode is a unique code, which like the title says, can only be used once. It’s used as an extra layer of security when you carry out certain transactions on your account.
If you don’t have the Vanquis app, we might need to send you a one-time passcode (OTP) by SMS, email or to your landline.
We would send an OTP if:
- You’re registering for the app or Online Banking
- We need to verify a purchase you’re making online
- You’re adding your card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet
You should NEVER share your OTP with anyone, and Vanquis will NEVER ask you for it. If someone calls or messages asking for your OTP, hang up immediately and call us.
You can contact us and report the attempted fraud. You can also report it to Action Fraud. This will help in the fight against fraud.
